BE REALISTIC
You can’t become a pilot in a very short time. Do not expect to become a pilot in a matter of months. Few people, if any, are capable of becoming pilots in this short time frame. Set a realistic goal for yourself when you start, like 3 months or 6 months. Anyone who works hard and is organized should be able become a pilot in this timeframe. It can take many years to become pilot!

It takes a few weeks to sort through all the information you have found and organize it into categories. These are the basics of pilot training. Don’t be deceived into enrolling in a program that doesn’t adhere to them. These legal requirements exist for a reason. So find a course that won’t take you off-track.
START SLOW SO YOU WON’T FAIL
This is how we naturally do things if we want success in anything. Running does not begin at the start line for a marathon. Some people believe that jumping in to flight lessons or ground school is the best way to go. Most often, students get overwhelmed by all the information and take longer to process it all. Do you want to make yourself fail? You will be more successful if you take small steps and then move on to the next step. You need to create an action plan you are able to dedicate the time and effort necessary to accomplish it. If you don’t have the time to do the necessary study at home, what good is flight training and ground school?
GO WIDE, SHOW
A combination of a broad and shallow knowledge approach is the best way to learn how to fly a plane. You should have a broad knowledge base but a good understanding of each topic before you dive deeper into the subject. While you may be able to understand one aspect of the subject, a narrow and deep approach will not allow you to learn all the necessary procedures. You’ll likely be more limited if you try to learn from the deepest depths of your knowledge. You can build on the knowledge you already have and help you reach your goals faster by building on it.
